Workshop for promoting exports of Indian Oil Seeds

 

Consulate General of India, Shanghai in association with ENG Gourmet organized a Workshop on Indian Oil Seeds on 12th December 2014 in the function room of the Consulate. Close to 40 representatives from leading Chinese oil seeds Companies, major retailers and oil seeds/vegetable oil agents attended the event. The workshop was also attended by representatives from Shanghai Food Association and Shanghai Oil Association.

The workshop was intended to give a further boost to promoting Indian oil seeds in China. The interaction was aimed at acquiring better understanding of business opportunities in both countries and forging new partnerships in the Oil Seeds sector.

Consul General presented an overview of India-China bilateral economic relations and highlighted the possibilities of increasing our commercial activities in the agricultural produce sector including oil seeds & vegetable oil . The Consulate made a detailed presentation introducing Indian oil seeds and outlined areas in which the Oil Seed industry of both countries could collaborate.

Prof. S.N.Ganguly, Chairman ENG Gourmet and Prof. Tapti Sanyal, Consultant , S.N. Enterprise travelled from India to participate in the event. Prof. Ganguly made a detailed presentation on Varieties, Quality, Harvest & Quarantine of Sesame seeds in India and Prof. Sanyal made a comparative analysis of Indian Oilseeds markets in Korea/Taiwan with that in China.
