Pratik Mathur

Sh. Pratik Mathur is an Indian Foreign Service officer of the 2007 Batch.

He has served as Deputy Secretary in the office of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from August 2019-September 2020.

Most recently, he served as Minister(Political) at India’s Mission to the United Nations in New York from September 2020 to December 2024. From 1 January 2021-31 December 2022, Mr. Mathur served as part of the India team representing the country in the UN Security Council.

His previous diplomatic assignments include serving in the Indian Embassies in Washington DC and Beijing, where he served as Staff Assistant to the Ambassador of India as well as the Director of the Indian Culture Centre in Beijing.

Mr. Mathur has also served as Officer in charge of Press Relations (Ministry of External Affairs) as well as Deputy Secretary (Bangladesh-Myanmar) at headquarters in Delhi.

He is fluent in English, Hindi, and Mandarin.

He holds a Masters in Economics degree from the Delhi School of Economics. His hobbies include reading and running.
