Students of High Schools of India and China celebrate Tagore's 150th Birth Anniversary in Jinyuan School in Shanghai

High School students from Tagore International School, New Delhi and Jinyuan Senior High School, Shanghai jointly presented a variety of impressive cultural performances on May 9, 2011 to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Poet Rabindranath Tagore. The programme was held at the auditorium of the Jinyuan Senior High School and was attended by a large number of Chinese students. This was the first time that students from an Indian and Chinese school had jointly presented a cultural performance in Shanghai. The performance was a rich and befitting tribute to Tagore by children who always occupied an important position in Tagore’s works and life. The performance depicted all aspects of Tagore’s multi-dimensional personality through drama, recitation of his poetry and singing songs written and composed by him. The performance received wide acclaim from all those present.
