VASANT
Talented musicians from the local Indian community, in association with Consulate General of India, Shanghai, presented Indian classical music concert 'Vasant' on Saturday March 1, 2014 in the Consulate premises. The event saw Indian musicians presenting traditional Indian classical music alongwith Chinese and Polish musicians. Vasant means Spring in Sanskrit and the concert was a tribute to Indian classical music, an ode to centuries of living traditions. The concert contained diverse items such as Thumris, chhota khayaals, ghazals and Geetis, conveying the pure classical flavor of Indian music.
