Consulate General of India, Shanghai organized an evening of Indian dance on March 5, 2014 by Abhinava Dance Company from Bangalore. While keeping the traditional themes of Indian dance, the 18 member troupe led by dancer-choreographer duo Nirupama-Rajendra presented an eclectic mix of the traditional and the contemporary with fabulous choreography, spectacular visuals (costumes and lighting) and rich musical score. Rooted in the Indian traditional dance forms of Kathak and Bharatanatyam, Ojas fused ethnic and modern genres of Indian dance.  Each dance composition was carefully crafted with intricate detailing in synchronization, choreography patterns, thematic costumes and light & stage effects. The event was organized with the support of Cotton Textile Promotion Council of India (TEXPRO), Canara bank & ICICI bank.
