         India fielded the biggest ever contingent (313 athletes) in the 4^th Asian Para Games which recently concluded in Hangzhou (held from 22.10.23 to 28.10.23) in Zhejiang Province of China. India competed in 17 out of 22 disciplines while participating for the first time in Rowing, Canoeing, Lawn ball, Taekwonds and Blind Football. India finished 5^th in the games with a medals tally of 111 medals, the biggest tally for the country in any major international  multi sports event.

         The Consulate General of India, Shanghai  organised a felicitation programme for the Team India on 28.10.23 inside the Games Village in Hangzhou. Chairman of the Paralympic Committee of India, Ms. Deepa Malik, Chef De Mission Shri Gurucharan Singh, Dy Chef De Missions and other officials were present during the felicitation ceremony. In her opening remarks Ms. Malik profusely thanked Government of India and the Consulate for the support and motivation to the Team India at 4^th Asian Para Games.

         Consul General Dr. N. Nandakumar  in his address expressed deep appreciation and gratitude to the athletes for their historic achievement of 111 medals and for bringing glory to the country.  In his address, Chef De Mission highlighted the fact that India had fielded its biggest ever contingent to play in the games and won medals in 12 out of the 17 disciplines in which it competed. He thanked the Consul General for his gesture of coming to Hangzhou alongwith his officers to felicitate the Para Athletes.

         On the occasion Consul General felicitated the athletes, coaches and the support staff with a bouquet of flowers.  These bouquets were specially made in India’s Tricolour for the occasion.
