Guidelines for Submission of Passport Applications through postal system

1.  Please fill online application at https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in.

2.  Take a printout of the filled in application form. The printed application form in original alongwith passport, other required documents and original payment receipts should be sent to the Consulate at the following address by post (at applicant’s cost) (You can check the fee for the concerned category passport with attached list)

3.  Applicable fee and ICWF charges can be accessed at

4.  The fee and ICWF charges should be paid by bank transfer and the original receipts should be sent along with the application. Bank details are as follows:

5.  Consulate will scrutinise the application form and the applicant will be informed about acceptance/rejection/deficiencies by email.

6.  Once the new passport is ready, the Consulate will dispatch the new passport after cancelling the old passport* to the applicant’s local address by post/Courier service. The applicant will be required to pay postal and insurance charges directly to the delivery person at the time of collection of passport.

(* The original passport will be retained by the Consulate till the new passport is ready, which may take about 4-6 weeks time.)

7.  The normal process of application in person at the Consulate will continue to be available to the applicant as usual and the facility of Postal submission of application will be in addition to the normal process.

Note:        

1. A) No application will be accepted without the original payment receipts.
2. B) Consulate will be not responsible for any damage or loss to the original documents during the movement of documents via post/courier
