Consul General Anil Kumar Rai met Ms. Shang Yu Ying, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce along with senior officers dealing with foreign trade and foreign investment promotion on 8^th December, 2017 to discuss ways and means to further deepen economic, trade and investment opportunities between India and Shanghai.

2. During the meeting Ms. Ying briefed about the activities of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the future plans of developing Shanghai as a knowledge capital and centre for excellence in tertiary sectors of economy.

3. Consul General used this opportunity to brief about the improvement in economic performance of India particularly the growth rate and ease of doing business. CG requested Chairman, Shang Yu Ying to encourage companies based in Shanghai looking for medium to long term returns to favorably look towards India for investments and contribute in ‘Make in India’ initiative.
