Consulate General of India organized an Investment Promotion seminar focusing on the Make In India campaign in the city of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province on 11 March 2015. The seminar was organized in collaboration with the Municipal Government of Ningbo. At the event, which saw participation of more than 50 local companies in Ningbo, detailed presentations were made on the new initiatives taken by Government of India under Make In India campaign, the opportunities available for investment by Chinese companies in different sectors as also investment and tax policies for FDI in India. Deputy Secretary General of Ningbo Municipal Government, Mr. Zhang Yan speaking at the seminar, highlighted the strengths of the Ningbo in manufacturing industries such as auto components and textiles and noted that there were economic complementarities between Ningbo and India which could be taken advantage of. He urged Ningbo based Chinese companies to explore opportunities in India for investment. The question answers session after the presentation saw many queries about visa and FDI policies of India which were answered by Consul General.

Earlier Consul General also met the Vice Mayor of Ningbo Mr. Wen Renzhou and discussed how to further strengthen economic and people to people links between Ningbo and India.
