65 Indian textile companies participate under India Pavilion at Yarn Expo & Inter Textile 2017 in Shanghai – Chinese textile companies encouraged to participate at upcoming “Textile India 2017” (March 15, 2017)

 

65 Indian textile companies participate under India Pavilion at Yarn Expo & Inter Textile 2017 in Shanghai – Chinese textile companies encouraged to participate at upcoming “Textile India 2017”  (March 15, 2017)

  1. A delegation of 65 Yarn and Textile companies from India participated under the banner of the “India Pavilion” at the Yarn Expo & InterTextile 2017 in Shanghai under the umbrella of the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) & PDEXCIL.  Consul General Prakash Gupta visited the Indian Pavilion today and interacted with Indian participants at Inter Textile 2017.  Mr. Siddhartha Rajagopal, Executive Director, TEXPROCIL informed Consul General about the increasing export potential of yarn from India to China and the tariff related constraints faced by Indian exporters.

In addition, an Interactive Seminar on “India : A Global Textile Manufacturing Hub” is also scheduled to be organized on 16 March, where the investment opportunities in the Indian Textile Sector would be introduced to Chinese textile companies participating at the event. Consul General encouraged TEXPROCIL to utilize the platform provided by Intertextile 2017 – to spread greater awareness about the upcoming “Textile India 2017” Event that India would be hosting from 30 June – 2 July 2017 in Gandhinagar.
  1. It may be noted that Ministry of Textiles of Government of India is organizing a mega international event Textiles India – 2017’, from 30th June 2017 to 2nd  July 2017 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The event will, for the first time, mark the positioning of an annual textile trade event in India on the annual calendar of global trade events. Prime Minister of India is likely to inaugurate the event. The mega exhibition will showcase the strength of the value chain in India and an international conference will be held with participation from global and national leaders of industry, technical experts and senior policy makers from the Union and State Governments.
  1. In partnership with Ministry of Textiles and CII, CGI Shanghai would be organizing a road show on 27th March in Shaoxing – Keqiao ( hub of textile industry in Eastern China) to promote Chinese participation at the upcoming Textile India 2017 event.
