Subject :5th India-China Cooperation Forum held at CEIBS today - also pays tribute to Mahatama Gandhi

In partnership with China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), Consulate General of India, Shanghai organized today the 5th edition of the India-China Cooperation Forum at CEIBS premises in Shanghai.  Nearly 100 students and entrepreneurs from Indian and Chinese business fraternities participated at the event.

2. Prof. Ding Yuan, Vice President and Dean, CEIBS gave the welcome address and acknowledged the growing economic engagement between India and China. Consul General Prakash Gupta introduced the investment climate available to Chinese investors in India and urged them to take advantage of the opportunities available in the Infrastructure, Urban Transportation and Renewable Energy sectors.

3. Three separate presentations on the state of Indian economy, Technology, Start-ups and Brand building in India were subsequently made by Mr. T.S. Vishwanath, Principal Advisor, APJ-SLG Law Offices, Mr. Sanjay Anandaram, Venture Partner, Seed Fund and Advisor, iSpirit and Ms. Alpana Parida, Managing Director, DY Works.

4. In the second half, a separate session (moderated by Prof. Shameen Prashantham, Associate Professor of Strategy and International Business, CEIBS) witnessed leading Chinese CEOs sharing their business experiences of operating in India. These included presentations from Mr. Shen Jianfang, Chairman of Highly Group and Chairman of Shanghai Desano Group.  Subsequently CEO TCS- China also narrated their experiences of operating in China. Both sessions of the event included interactive Q&A sessions, which witnessed considerable interest regarding the changed investment climate in India.

5. It may be noted that the 5th India-China Cooperation Forum was also dedicated to commemorate the “International Day of Non-violence – Birthday of Mahatama Gandhi” and all participants recognized the relevance of Gandhian values in contemporary times.  The event was supported by the Tata Group, CII and CEIBS Center for Emerging Market Studies.
