Indian Pavilion showcasing Indian handicrafts inaugurated in Kunshan, Suzhou

A delegation of 25 Indian companies grouped together under the umbrella of the Export Promotion council of Handicrafts (EPCH) participated at the “China Import Expo 2016 (Brand Consumer Gods Show)” in Kunshan, Suzhou today.

The Indian Pavilion was jointly inaugurated by Consul General Prakash Gupta along with Mr. Fei Shaoyun, Director General of Jiangsu Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and Madam Xu Huijuan, Chairperson of Wuxi CCPIT. After the inauguration of the Indian Pavilion, local leaders also visited each of the Indian booths and encouraged Indian companies to participate on an even larger scales at next year’s exhibition.

3. Jiangsu Provincial leadership was of the view that the Indian items on display, in particular Indian handicrafts had a select niche market in the Eastern China Region which could be further promoted by Indian participation at such platforms. Some of the exhibits on display included presentations from national award winning artists from Orissa, Madhubani and Agra (inlay work in marble ) which were deeply appreciated by the Chinese visitors.
