Focus Session on Make in India - Organised in Nanjing (Jiangsu) - in partnership with Jiangsu CCPIT

1. As part of Jiangsu CCPIT's Annual Opening Event for 2016, CGI Shanghai organized a “Make in India” Focus Session on the investment opportunities in India for potential Chinese investments from Jiangsu Province (in Nanjing) on 24th February.

2. The event was attended by nearly 350 representatives of Chinese companies and several other MNCs who have business presence in Jiangsu.  Mr. Fang Wei, Deputy Secretary General of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government along with Mr. Da Jiaxing, Chairman of Jiangsu CCPIT were the chief dignitaries from the Jiangsu provincial leadership.

3. As part of the event, a 15 minute promotional movie (in Chinese) on the investments opportunities in India was displayed to all the attendees and a detailed presentation covering opportunities in sectors like Renewable Energy, Urban Transportation, Infrastructure, Power sector and Smart Cities was made for the benefit of Chinese company representatives.

4. CGI Shanghai also circulated to all the attendees of the event Chinese translation of   the upcoming investments/projects details in India in the next 2-3 years, covering 10 states and 4 sectors through pen-drives .

5. Subsequent to the event, nearly 15-20 companies from Jiangsu have committed to undertaking investment related visits to India in the next two months which are being facilitated by the Consulate.  Most of these companies belong to the renewable energies, solar panels and power sectors.

6. Jiangsu CCPIT has also offered to host an India Specific Seminar in the second half of 2016.
