The 65th Independence Day was celebrated at the Consulate General of India, Shanghai this morning. Consul General Mrs. Riva Ganguly Das hoisted the National Flag and read out President’s Address to the nation delivered on the eve of the Independence Day, to members of the Indian community and the Consulate. More than 150 members of the Indian community attended the morning event on a working day. Also present were Indian medical students from Suzhou and Nantong (Jiangsu Province) universities.  Members of the Indian Association rendered patriotic songs. An informal gathering over light refreshments followed. A great sense of joy and pride was visible in the attendees.
