Tagore, one of the literary figures most revered by the Chinese readers, has traveled widely and captured the hearts and minds of people all over the world. His visit to Shanghai three times between 1924 to 1929 as well as to Beijing, Nanjing and Hangzhou, was memorable and historic. Through his visits Tagore made extensive contacts with many influential figures of China's literary circles and delivered a number of speeches, exerting far reaching influence on China's literary horizon. Tagore's journey to China created a "Tagore fever" in modern China. The digital prints of Tagore's original paintings which has been put together by ICCR on the occasion of the Poet's 150th Birth Anniversary are exemplary of Tagore's multi-dimensional personality and yet another facet of his creativity.

The exhibition is a tribute to Tagore, a true intellectual whose name is synonymous with humanity and harmony across cultures and nations. It is aimed at fulfilling Tagore's dreams of further strengthening the cultural bonds between the two great civilizations.
