Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations 2013
Consul General Mr Naveen Srivastava paid floral tributes today (October 2, 2013) at the Gandhi bust at Xin Hongqiao Center Park to mark the 144th birth anniversary of the father of modern Indian nation Mahatma Gandhi. The simple ceremony saw attendance in large numbers from members of Indian community as well as Chinese admirers of Mahatma Gandhi. On June 15 2007, the United Nations declared Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary on October 2nd as the International Day of Non-Violence.
