The Consulate General of India in Shanghai, in association with The Representative Office of CII organized a Workshop for promotion of business & investment opportunities in India. The workshop was titled India : Navigating your next growth opportunity".

There was a keen interest in the event and close to 90 representatives from Chinese companies, Chambers of Commerce & Industry from Shanghai, Zhejiang & Jiangsu provinces and local media participated in the event. Senior level representatives from Deloitte India, GMR Group , AZB & Partners etc also participated in the Event and explained the legal and regulatory frameworks, emerging business landscape, opportunities in upcoming SEZ’s to Chinese investors.

In his welcome address Mr Rangarajan Vellamore, Chairman, CII IBF IT Working Group briefed the participants on the changing scenario of India-China economic relationship and the new business & investment opportunities in India.

Consul General Prakash Gupta presented an overview of India-China bilateral economic relations and invited Chinese entrepreneurs to consider investing in India. He deliberated on the new business friendly initiatives of the Indian Government and the potential sectors of cooperation and emphasized for further strengthening of the same through investment by Chinese companies in India.

The Workshop included detailed presentations on subjects like "The Business Landscape of India", "The legal & regulatory framework for investment in India, "The Indian workforce" and The special economic zones in India".
