Make in India Pavilion inaugurated at Automechanika Shanghai

“Automechanika Shanghai”, Asia’s largest trading platform for automotive parts, equipment & service and the world’s second largest Automechanika show opened today in the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. Around 5000 domestic and international exhibitors from more than 100 countries are participating in the Expo which is expected to attract about 100, 000 professional buyers. All worldwide leading brands in automotive sector are showcasing their latest products in the Expo.

On recommendation of the Indian Consulate, the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) has been participating in the Automechanika Shanghai on regular basis. This year, ACMA has organized participation of 12 Indian companies and an Indian Pavilion covering 144 sq. mt of space has been set up  displaying the Indian products.

In addition to the ACMA Pavilion, the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) in association with CII also put on display a “Make in India” pavilion at the Auto Expo. The auto component sector has been identified as one of the key sectors to promote investment and the “Make in India pavilion” has been set up with the objective to project India as a design, innovation and manufacturing hub.

 

Consul General Shri Prakash Gupta while inaugurating the ACMA & the Make in India pavilions interacted with the exhibitors, encouraged them to participate in this event on regular basis and emphasized on our participation on a larger scale. He also addressed the business round table which was organized in the “Make in India” Pavilion and encouraged Chinese businesses to look at India as a potential investment destination and avail the upcoming opportunities that India offers. Shri Atul Chaturvedi, Joint Secretary (DIPP) outlined the changed investment climate in India and the details of the revised guidelines which have made foreign investors rank India as one of the top investment destinations.

 

The Make in India Pavilion along with the ACMA Pavilion will be on display at Automechanica Shanghai until December 5, 2015
