CII India-Business Forum meeting held in Shanghai

  1. A meeting of members of CII India-Business Forum (IBF) was held on August 15, 2017 in Shanghai. The theme of the meeting was to discuss “China’s Economy- Present and Future”. The meeting was attended by the Mr. Tarun Vijay, Ex- Member of Parliament and Chairman, CII India -China Parliamentary Group, Mr. Prakash Gupta, Consul General, Consulate General of India in Shanghai, Mr. V. Arumugam, Chairman, CII IBF China, Mr Madhav Sharma, Chief Representative, CII China Representative office and nearly 30 members of CII-IBF China. A presentation on “China’s Economy- Present and Future” was made by Mr. Jeff Walters, Managing Director, Boston Consulting Group China. 
  2. Since the establishment of CII office in China in 2003, the number of Indian companies in China have grown substantially. In 2009, CII China launched the India-Business Forum.  The CII India-Business Forum aims to promote Indian business interests in China through collective approach. The CII-IBF is also a platform for members to meet with Chinese companies interested in doing business with India, Think Tanks, universities and other policy organizations of China. The forum also works in showcasing India and Indian industry, thereby building “Brand India” in China.  CII-IBF Members are from different sectors such as Information Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Auto Components, Automobiles, Textiles & Textile Machinery, Chemicals, Education, Financial Services and Food Processing among others.
